LPQ NOVEMBER MEETING

Today saw the last LPQ (Launceston Patchwork & Quilting) meeting day for the year. On display were quilts from the annual presidents challenge (This year was alphabet quilts, eg L for Log Cabin or whatever represents L or any other letter of the alphabet assigned to you).

There were Christmas quilts made from blocks that are raffled off at every yearly Christmas lunch etc.

Lastly, quilts from the annual retreat.

This one is H for Houses I think

Z for Zoe (The name of the owner of this quilt)

Annual retreat quilts. Retreat being annual sewing trip.

L for Log Cabin which is the design name of the blocks used. This one was my favorite

Christmas Block quilts. Everyone has to make a block and groups of 9 are raffled off
at the end of year Christmas lunches.

ITS FINISHED

After a year of putting together my Stars Around the Garden quilt is finally finished and ready for hand quilting.  It is so huge it is hard to find a place to take a proper picture of it in full. This is the best I can do.

Now that this one is finished its time to start planning the next project. Most likely the one pictured in the post before this one.

NEXT PROJECT

This pattern is a new one that was found and something that I really "needed" . It is called My Whimsical Garden Quilt by Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins of Piece O Cake designs. It is just gorgeous. More fabric to collect lol what FUN.

FINALLY FINISHED (sort of)

After a year or so I have finished this huge quilt called Stars Around the Garden. I just have to put on the green paisley strip around the border then I will post a photo of it in its entirety. There is still some thought as to where I can hang it since it is enormous. This will be hand quilted over 2011.

Stars around the Garden quilt ready for final pieced border.

Final pieced border to be sewn onto the quilt.
More photos to come shortly. For those that don't know this project was a block of the month from a shop in the USA called Homestead Hearth. I have provided the link to them below.
